We're looking forward to meeting you.
Welcome to Southshore!
We’re so glad that you want to learn more about us, and we welcome you to join with us in person for a Sunday worship service. Southshore is a thriving and vibrant community of believers in Jesus from a wide range of ages, backgrounds, and ethnicities.
Our heartbeat is to know God and make Him known. We are a Bible-believing, Jesus-seeking, Gospel-centred, Baptist church.
We believe that God reveals Himself in the preaching of His Word, is exalted in the singing of His praises, grows us in loving fellowship, answers us as we humbly seek Him in prayer, and sends us out to be His Holy Spirit-empowered witnesses in the world.
We are striving to shine the light of the Gospel in the city where God has placed us, and believing God will use us to impact the city of Barrie and Simcoe County with His love and transforming power.
What to expect
What happens on Sunday?
Southshore is a place where we keep it pretty simple. It's relaxed and casual, but focused and authentic. We don't need to be flashy or put on a big production for people to meet God. We believe Jesus is enough.
We follow a basic pattern of meeting together. We teach from the Bible, and we sing, pray, reflect, and respond to God by seeking to obey Him. Our purpose through it all is to love God, to know Him more, and to make Him known.
We want Southshore to be a place where you can learn and grow, connect with others, and wrestle with who God is and what He wants for you. It's okay if you don't have it all figured out yet. Everyone is welcome. We love to mingle after the service over coffee, so feel free to stay, enjoy some refreshments and meet some new faces!
What about my kids?
Southshore is a family-friendly place. There are many children here, from babies into the teen years. We believe that children are a blessing from God and should be taught about God in a fun and safe learning environment! We want our kids to know Jesus and make Him known. Children sit with the adults for the first part of the service, before they are dismissed to their classes (ages 0 - Gr. 4).
